Last week I went by the agency to pick up copies of our homestudy report. I need these to apply for grants, which we are almost done with. I walked into the agency and I noticed a young girl sitting in the waiting area. I recognized her right away. She was Nicole, the girl who had picked us a couple of months ago to adopt her baby. She was the girl that we said 'no' to. I could tell that she knew who I was, I could see her looking at me out of the corner of my eye. And to confirm her thought, our caseworker yelled out from the back of the office, "I'll be with you in a minute, Briana!" "Yikes", I thought..."this is awkward." I just couldn't help but wonder what she was thinking about me. Did she feel rejected, sad, indifferent?? Our caseworker came out and handed me the paperwork and then I heard Nicole say that she was there to pick up her pictures of the baby. I then wondered if she is still grieving the loss of her baby girl. My heart couldn't help but break for her at that point. All I could do was say a prayer for her as I hurried out the door.
On another note, my cute husband decided that the diaper bag I got was too feminine for him. Therefore, he decided to get his own. It came in the mail this week and it is bigger than the one we already had! He ordered it from a place named LA Police Gear, so you can imagine how manly is must look. It has like 50 pockets and zippers all over it. Believe it or not, Noel has the exact same bag in the next smaller size. Right now, he has been storing ammo in it, but it makes the perfect size for the diaper bag. So he decided to use this one instead- minus the ammo :) All we need know is the baby that he can carry along with this bag.
